SSO (Single Sign-On) for Frontend

It would be very valuable if FeatureShift offered a Single Sign-On (SSO) option for frontend access to knowledge bases.

The goal is that users who are already logged in to an external system (website, customer portal, app) are automatically logged into the FeatureShift backend for our customers, without requiring a separate login or password.

As a reference implementation, the SSO solution used by Ecwid could serve as a good example. It is based on a signed, short-lived payload (HMAC/JWT) and is easy to integrate into existing systems:

Use Cases

  • Internal feedback board for teams (intranet)
  • Customer portals with integrated feedback board
  • Protected feedback boards without separate user management in FeatureShift

Value

  • Better user experience (no double login)
  • Less password handling
  • More enterprise- and SaaS-friendly
